Suspendidas en la duración de Zeus,
deslumbrantes estatuas entonan panegíricos
a los dioses del Olimpo
Erectas, con los ojos saturados
de belleza inacabada semejan espiras
que gritan o susurran en función
de un viento despiadado
Rebosa el tiempo y las excita
un ansia de inmortalidad
Eternity
Eyes welling at a promise of perfection
suspended still in thrall to Zeus
Dazzling statues
erect in Ionic order, declaim panegyrics
to the masters of Olympus
Crying now, now whispering
at the whim of a pitiless wind
Awash with time and stirred
by old urgings of immortality
